시흥시(시장 임병택)는 10월 15일부터 내년 4월 30일까지 65세 이상(1960년 12월 31일 이전 출생자) 어르신을 대상으로 독감(인플루엔자)과 코로나19 예방접종을 동시에 진행한다고 13일 밝혔다.
접종은 연령대별로 순차적으로 진행된다. 75세 이상은 10월 15일부터, 70세부터 74세까지는 10월 20일부터, 65세~69세는 10월 22일부터 주소지와 관계없이 지정 위탁의료기관에서 무료로 접종받을 수 있다.
이번 코로나19 예방접종에는 최근 유행 중인 변이 바이러스에 대응할 수 있는 LP.8.1 변이 대응 백신(화이자ㆍ모더나)이 사용된다. 65세 이상 어르신들은 같은 날 접종 부위를 달리해 독감과 코로나19 백신을 한 번에 맞을 수 있어 편의성이 높다.
접종을 희망하는 시민은 신분증과 필요한 서류를 지참해 가까운 지정 위탁의료기관을 방문하면 된다. 지정 의료기관은 시흥시청 누리집, 질병관리청 예방접종도우미 누리집, 보건소 및 동 행정복지센터, 경로당 등을 통해 확인할 수 있다.
이형정 시흥시 보건소장은 "겨울철 호흡기 감염병 확산을 예방하기 위해 독감과 코로나19 백신 접종이 무엇보다 중요하다"며 "특히 65세 이상 어르신들은 한 번의 방문으로 두 가지 백신을 동시에 접종할 수 있는 만큼, 건강한 겨울나기를 위해 적극적인 참여를 부탁드린다"고 밝혔다.

Lee Hyung-jeong, director of Siheung City Public Health Center, said, "Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are more important than anything else to prevent the spread of respiratory infections in winter," and "In particular, seniors aged 65 and older can receive both vaccines at once in one visit, so we ask for active participation for a healthy winter."
