인천시가 추진하는 바이오플라스틱 지원센터 구축사업에서 2건이 과학기술정보통신부 연구개발특구 신기술 실증특례에 선정됐다.
시는 12일 ㈜금강바이오·그린그림·동성케미컬 컨소시엄의 '생분해성 플라스틱 퇴비화 장치'와 ㈜한새·교원프라퍼티 컨소시엄의 '생분해성 공기청정기 필터 재활용 시스템'이 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
실증특례는 폐기물관리법상 생분해성 플라스틱 분류가 불명확해 발생하는 규제를 검증하는 제도다. 실증 결과 규제 개선이 필요하다고 인정되면 관련 법령을 정비한다.
2개 과제는 인천강소연구개발특구(인천대학교)에서 2년간 실증을 진행한다.
유정복 시장은 "기업들의 시장 진출 애로사항을 지속 발굴해 지역 기업이 친환경 바이오산업 분야에서 글로벌 경쟁력을 확보하도록 지원하겠다"고 말했다.
시는 현재 2건의 실증특례 과제를 추가 신청해 협의 중이다.

Incheon Wins Two Bio-Plastic Regulatory Exemptions
Two projects from Incheon's bioplastic support center program won regulatory exemptions from the Ministry of Science and ICT for new technology demonstrations in research and development zones.
The city announced on the 12th that 'Biodegradable Plastic Composting Device' by Kumgang Bio, Green Greem, and Dongsung Chemical consortium and 'Biodegradable Air Purifier Filter Recycling System' by Hansae and Kyowon Property consortium were selected.
The regulatory exemption program tests technologies facing unclear regulations under the Waste Management Act regarding biodegradable plastic classification. The government revises related laws if demonstration results prove regulatory improvements are necessary.
The two projects will run demonstrations for two years at Incheon Gangso Research and Development Special Zone (Incheon National University).
Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok said, "We will support local companies to secure global competitiveness in the eco-friendly bio-industry by continuously identifying and resolving market entry difficulties."
The city is currently discussing two additional regulatory exemption applications.
