◆ 서울시향, 롯데콘서트홀서 신년음악회 개최
서울시립교향악단은 2026년 1월 9일 오후 7시 30분 서울 롯데콘서트홀에서 '2026 서울시향 신년 음악회'를 개최한다. 얍 판 츠베덴 음악감독이 지휘를 맡는다. 오스트리아 출신 거장 피아니스트 루돌프 부흐빈더가 협연자로 무대에 오른다. 부흐빈더와 서울시향은 이번 공연에서 처음 호흡을 맞춘다.
◆ 1부 거슈윈 피아노 협주곡 연주
첫 곡은 미국 작곡가 거슈윈의 피아노 협주곡이다. 거슈윈은 클래식과 재즈 음악을 결합해 현대음악에 큰 발자취를 남겼다. 이 협주곡은 클래식 협주곡 형식을 재즈 언어로 해석한 작품이다. 약 30분 길이의 3악장 구성이며 곳곳에 재즈적 요소가 돋보인다. 거슈윈은 대표작 '랩소디 인 블루'와 달리 이 곡에서 직접 관현악 편곡까지 완성했다. 이 곡은 2010년 밴쿠버 동계올림픽 금메달리스트 김연아의 2009-10 시즌 프리 프로그램 곡으로도 유명하다.
◆ 2부 슈베르트 '미완성'·레스피기 '로마의 소나무'
2부에서는 슈베르트 교향곡 8번 '미완성'과 레스피기의 교향시 '로마의 소나무'를 연주한다. 슈베르트 교향곡 8번은 1822년 작곡됐으나 두 악장만 완성된 채 남았다. 1865년 세상에 공개되며 '완성되지 않은 걸작'으로 자리 잡았다. 2악장 구성의 드문 형태이지만 낭만주의적 정서와 아름다운 선율이 돋보인다. 레스피기의 교향시 '로마의 소나무'(1924)는 축제와 자연 풍경을 유려한 관현악법으로 그려낸 작품이다. 티켓은 서울시향 누리집과 콜센터에서 구입할 수 있다.

◆ First Half Features Gershwin Piano Concerto

Unlike his famous "Rhapsody in Blue," Gershwin completed the orchestration himself for this piece. The concerto is also known as the free program music for figure skating star Kim Yuna's 2009-10 season, when she won gold at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
◆ Second Half Features Schubert's 'Unfinished' and Respighi's 'Pines of Rome'
The second half features Schubert's Symphony No. 8 "Unfinished" and Respighi's symphonic poem "Pines of Rome." Schubert composed Symphony No. 8 in 1822, but only two movements were completed. The work was unveiled to the world in 1865 and established itself as an "unfinished masterpiece." Despite its rare two-movement structure, the symphony showcases romantic sentiment and beautiful melodies. Respighi's symphonic poem "Pines of Rome" (1924) depicts festivals and natural landscapes through elegant orchestration. Tickets are available through the Seoul Philharmonic website and call center.
