인천공항공사는 지난 12일 인천 중구 공사 회의실에서 인천공항 방역시스템 고도화를 위한 전문가 워크숍을 개최했다고 14일 밝혔다.
워크숍에는 인천국제공항공사 방역 관계자, 국립인천공항검역소, 한국방역학회, ㈜세스코연구소 등 방역 전문가들이 참석해 청결하고 안전한 공항 환경 조성을 위한 다양한 방안을 논의했다. 특히 공항은 감염병 매개 해충과 바이러스 유입에 대비한 통합적 방역 관리가 필요한 특수한 공간이라는 인식에 따라 ▲국내외 해충 방제 동향(한국방역학회) ▲인천공항 방역시스템 고도화 방안(세스코연구소) ▲검역 대응 절차 개선(국립인천공항검역소) 등 3가지 사항에 대해 전문가 발표와 패널 토론이 진행됐다.
이학재 공사 사장은 각계 방역 전문가의 의견을 적극 수렴해 인천공항의 방역 시스템을 세계 최고 수준으로 업그레이드 해 나갈 계획이라며 해외공항사업과 연계해 K-공항방역 시스템의 해외수출도 추진해 나가겠다고 말했다.

Incheon Airport Corporation announced on the 13th that it held an expert workshop to upgrade the Incheon Airport quarantine system in the corporation's conference room in Jung-gu, Incheon on the 12th.
The workshop was attended by quarantine officials from Incheon International Airport Corporation, National Incheon Airport Quarantine Station, Korean Society of Pest Control, and Cesco Research Institute to discuss various measures to create a clean and safe airport environment. In particular, recognizing that airports are special spaces requiring integrated quarantine management in preparation for the introduction of infectious disease-carrying pests and viruses, expert presentations and panel discussions were held on three matters: ▲Domestic and international pest control trends (Korean Society of Pest Control) ▲Measures to upgrade Incheon Airport quarantine system (Cesco Research Institute) ▲Improvement of quarantine response procedures (National Incheon Airport Quarantine Station).
Corporation President Lee Hak-jae said "We plan to actively collect opinions from quarantine experts from various fields to upgrade Incheon Airport's quarantine system to the world's best level," adding "We will also pursue overseas export of the K-airport quarantine system in connection with overseas airport projects."
