인천국제공항공사가 항공 AI 혁신허브 개발사업 시행자를 모집한다.

◆ 민간투자 유치, 12월22일까지 접수

공항공사는 12일 '인천공항 항공 인공지능 혁신허브 개발사업' 시행자 모집을 시작했다. 사업 부지는 약 2만3000㎡(약 7000평) 규모다. 최대 40MW 규모의 전력 공급이 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

이번 사업은 민간투자 유치 개발사업으로 추진된다. 공항공사가 토지를 임대하면, 사업시행자는 시설을 직접 개발하고 최장 50년까지 운영할 수 있다. 사업 수행 능력을 갖춘 법인이면 참가 가능하며, 모집 공고는 12월22일까지다.

신청 희망 법인은 사업계획서를 작성해 방문 제출해야 한다. 자세한 내용은 공항공사 홈페이지 공지사항에서 확인할 수 있다.

◆ AI 데이터센터·R&D센터·비즈니스센터 구축

항공 AI 혁신허브에는 AI 데이터센터, R&D센터, 비즈니스센터가 들어선다. AI 컴퓨팅 자원(GPU 등)을 갖춘 데이터센터를 기반으로 공항·항공 관련 기업들이 입주한다. 항공 AI 솔루션 개발부터 실증 및 상용화까지 원스톱으로 이뤄지는 혁신 거점이 될 예정이다.

인천공항은 단기간 개발이 가능한 유휴부지와 독립적 전력망을 갖췄다. 공항공사는 대규모 AI 인프라 구축에 최적의 조건을 갖춘 것으로 평가했다.

공항공사는 비정상 상황 발생에도 안정적 공항 운영이 가능하도록 독립적 전력공급 방안을 마련했다. 전자파 발생 등 위험요소 사전 차단을 위해 전문기관의 기술적 검토도 완료했다.

◆ "AI 산업생태계 중심지로 발전"

항공산업은 AI 자율 항공관제, 항공기 정비 자동화, 수화물 실시간 트래킹 등 AI 기술 도입 방향으로 전환하고 있다. 공항공사는 AI 혁신을 선도하고 K-항공 산업 경쟁력을 높이기 위해 항공 AI 혁신허브를 구축한다.

공항공사는 전문가로 구성한 평가위원회를 통해 항공 AI 생태계 구현 능력, AI 컴퓨팅 자원 확보 및 활용계획, 건설 및 인프라 구축 계획 등을 종합 평가해 우선협상대상자를 선정한다.

이학재 공항공사 사장은 "항공 AI 혁신허브 사업을 계기로 단순한 공항·교통시설을 넘어 AI 분야의 실리콘밸리로 성장할 것"이라며 "인천공항이 AI 혁신을 가속화하는 AI 산업생태계의 중심지로 발전하도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

The Airport Corporation began recruiting operators for the 'Incheon Airport Aviation Artificial Intelligence Innovation Hub Development Project' on the 12th. The project site is approximately 23,000㎡ (about 7,000 pyeong). Power supply of up to 40MW was found to be possible.

This project is pursued as a private investment attraction development project. When the Airport Corporation leases the land, the project operator can directly develop facilities and operate them for up to 50 years. Corporations with project execution capability can participate, and the recruitment notice runs until December 22.

◆ Construction of AI Data Center, R&D Center, and Business Center

It is expected to become an innovation hub where aviation AI solution development through demonstration and commercialization occurs in one-stop.

Incheon Airport has idle land that can be developed in a short period and an independent power network. The Airport Corporation evaluated that it has optimal conditions for building large-scale AI infrastructure.

The Airport Corporation prepared an independent power supply plan to enable stable airport operation even in abnormal situations. Technical reviews by specialized institutions were also completed to block risk factors such as electromagnetic wave generation in advance.

◆ "Development into Center of AI Industrial Ecosystem"

The aviation industry is transforming toward introducing AI technologies such as AI autonomous air traffic control, aircraft maintenance automation, and real-time baggage tracking. The Airport Corporation is building an aviation AI innovation hub to lead AI innovation and enhance K-aviation industry competitiveness.

The Airport Corporation will select a preferred negotiating party through comprehensive evaluation of aviation AI ecosystem implementation capability, AI computing resource securing and utilization plans, and construction and infrastructure building plans through an evaluation committee composed of experts.

Lee Hak-jae, president of the Airport Corporation, said, "With the Aviation AI Innovation Hub project as an opportunity, we will grow beyond a simple airport and transportation facility into a Silicon Valley in the AI field," adding "We will do our best to develop Incheon Airport into a center of the AI industrial ecosystem that accelerates AI innovation."
