인천시의회 정해권 의장(국민의힘·연수구1)이 12일 연수구새마을회관 주차장에서 열린 '사랑의 김장나누기' 행사에 참석해 회원들을 격려했다.
연수구새마을회(회장 김영채)가 주관한 이날 행사에는 회원 180여 명이 참여했다. 회원들은 배추 속 넣기, 포장, 동별 전달 등의 작업을 분담하며 지역 내 어려운 이웃을 위한 김장 봉사활동을 펼쳤다.
정 의장은 "정성으로 담근 김치가 어려운 이웃의 밥상에 올라 따뜻한 겨울을 선물하게 될 것"이라며 "이웃을 먼저 생각하는 마음이 우리 지역사회를 더욱 단단하게 만든다"고 말했다.
연수구새마을회는 매년 김장철을 맞아 지역 내 취약계층을 위한 김장 나눔 행사를 진행해왔다. 이날 담근 김치는 동별로 분류돼 관내 독거노인, 저소득 가정 등에 전달될 예정이다.

180 members of Yeonsu-gu Saemaul Association practice neighborly love at event
Incheon City Council Chairman Jeong Hae-kwon (People Power Party, Yeonsu-gu District 1) participated in the 'Sharing Kimchi with Love' event held at the Yeonsu-gu Saemaul Center parking lot on the 12th and encouraged members.
The event was organized by the Yeonsu-gu Saemaul Association (Chairman Kim Young-chae) and attended by about 180 members. Members shared the work of stuffing cabbage, packaging, and delivering by district, conducting kimchi volunteer activities for neighbors in need in the region.
Chairman Jeong said, "The kimchi made with sincerity will be placed on the tables of neighbors in need and will give them a warm winter," adding, "The heart that thinks of neighbors first makes our local community stronger."
The Yeonsu-gu Saemaul Association has held kimchi sharing events for vulnerable groups in the region every kimjang season. The kimchi made on this day will be classified by district and delivered to senior citizens living alone and low-income families in the district.
